Inspired by: I am passionate about human spaceflight, and in particular, sending humans to Mars. In order to establish a permanent presence on Mars, food production becomes a necessity. This is what drove my desire to create this design. When I realized it was able to be used for urban settings on Earth, it made the project even more exciting! Please note that the attached youtube video is an older version of the design and scripted for Mars; the Illustrations and Description show the new design that is tailored for urban settings.
