Classical machining operations largely fall into the "subtractive manufacturing" category - operations that remove material from a solid billet to form the desired part. In recent decades, however, new forms of "additive manufacturing" have become available. In these cases, a CNC machine is used to add material to the workpiece to build up the desired features on the part.
Very high magnetic fields (>1 Tesla) are needed to operate Magnetic Resonance Scanners. The equipment (superconductors coils or rare earth permanent magnets) which generates such fields are one of the reasons for the high cost of the scanners.
The mixer is one of the basic building blocks of any communication receiver and transmitters. Mixers translate signals from one frequency band to another. The output of the mixer consists of multiple images of the mixers input signal where each image is shifted up or down by multiples of the local oscillator (LO) frequency.
Star Wars began with Luke Skywalker working on a moisture farm. Moisture farming was the only way to get enough water to sustain life on the desert planet of Tattooine. This hat was designed as a portable moisture farm.
There are many places on earth that fresh water is not readily available.

Zebedee is a small hand-held device that consists of a lightweight LiDAR scanner with 30m (100ft) maximum range and a industrial-grade MEMS inertial measurement unit (IMU) mounted on a simple spring mechanism. As an operator holding the device moves through the environment, the scanner loosely oscillates about the spring,
This new drum system is much more effective than a typical crank shaft and results in less energy loss. It also allows fewer parts to be used, performing all the functions necessary to operate the motor. The engine will continue to use the Otto cycle.
Are you tired of having a difficult time sleeping because the day is too hot or too cold; and when you get to bed you start to sweat (during a hot day) or you cannot get warm enough (during a cold night)? Well, this AIR VENT BED will bring you comfort in a better sleep,
3 wheel, 300 pound personal 2 person transporter relying on 2 hubmotor traction wheels, electronic/pneumatic suspension to optimize handling and energy characteristics, computer controlled lighting system connected to a personal computer via USB connection. Vehicle may be controlled remotely via the personal computer controller in remote mode.
A new passenger-carrying aircraft design is proposed which will be able to efficiently move people at a speed of 300 MPH for typical distances of 10 to 150 miles. An aircraft of this type might be used to provide rapid transportation from numerous points in a metropolitan area to the local airport,
