Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) uses heliostat mirrors to direct sunlight onto a central collector where heat is converted to electric power. CSP has a significant potential cost advantage over photovoltaics, mirror area being less expensive than photocells.
However, this advantage is offset by the sturdy heliostat construction required for maintaining alignment during daily temperature changes, wind forcing, etc.
This design idea solves the problems of heavy weight and costs in aircraft and vehicle systems design and manufacturing by eliminating thousands of feet of copper wire that power and connect various systems, most EMI, and time and costs with less additive steps of manufacturing. An additional benefit is safety redundancy built in and reduced maintenance.
The project will allow converting thermal energy into mechanical energy and then using mechanical energy to convert it into electrical energy. Heat can be obtained from geothermal sources, direct solar heating, wind or any other source.
