We have developed an integrated air quality monitoring UAS which also has collision avoidance technique to avoid collision with real time obstacles while monitoring. We have used an ultrasonic sensor for collision avoidance and mq135 for air quality sensing. We have developed a program for displaying the pollution gas availablity in percentage instead of ppm.

An anti collision system is essential for safe flight of the drone. It gives a simple solution for obstacle detection and collision avoidance in UAVs. The obstacle is detected using the ultrasonic sensor (HC-SR04).

Ultrasonic sensors work by emitting sound waves at a frequency too high for humans to hear. They then wait for the sound to be reflected back, calculating distance based on the time required.

Air quality is monitored using (MQ 135). Air quality monitoring sensors focuses on five components: ozone, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrous oxide.

The algorithm for anti-collision was developed using LABVIEW.

Since air quality is monitored in real time atmosphere and to avoid collision with buildings, flyovers, trees and other obstacles as well as to change the flight path into a reliable and safe flight path.
