For over 35 years I have proposed the following "Free Lunch" solution to Climate Change and global warming to US and international "Movers and Shakers" without obtaining any responses or rebuttals. This approach involves building a solar power station on the moon and beaming 20 trillion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity to earth 24/7, using the proven technology of microwave power beaming, which passes through cloud cover. This can be achieved with no increase in US taxes, increases in unemployment, or changes in life styles because it can be funded by simply diverting already allocated funds for weapon systems useless in the "War on Terror" to this project.. Furthermore, these funds would go to the same defense and aerospace contractors receiving them now, so there would be no layoffs or loss in profits.

There would be no requirement for new technology since microwave power beaming was demonstrated as early as 1968, and the technology for setting up a lunar solar concentrator was demonstrated in the early 1970's in the Apollo Project.

NASA is currently investigating spacecraft for an insane trillion dollar "feel good" manned mission to Mars, where the astronauts will be "fried" by cosmic rays during the long interplanetary trip.

With a $100 billion/year investment in this lunar project the value of 20 trillion kiolowatt-hours of clean electricity at the current average rate of 12 cents per kilowatt-hour amounts to $2.5 trillion per year input to the US Treasury, which eliminates budget Deficits and ultimately pays off the US National Debt.

Furthermore, since the power beaming is world-wide because of earth rotation relative to the moon, this project would counteract the exponentially increasing CO2 emission by China and India, thereby reducing the current CO2 atmospheric content from its current value of 400 parts per million to a sustainable 350 parts per million to reduce global warming. This would save $ trillions more resulting from sea level rise, weather catastrophes, etc.

All that is required is political courage in the US government!
