We have chosen to utilize the vortex energy generated at airplane wingtips to generate electricity and power non critical parts of the flight, hence increasing the fuel efficiency.

It is an aspect of wingtip vortices, which has been studied very little in the past. The vortices have a high energy and this rotational movement of the vortices can be used to drive a turbine of propeller, which can in turn be used to drive a motor and feed into the electrical system of the aircraft.

With cost of fuel rising and aircraft manufacturers looking for various ways to improve efficiency of the aircraft such a device incorporated along with winglets can increase fuel savings by 7 to 8 percent.
