Inspired by: The current practice involving solar energy storage presents a fluctuating characteristic that can negatively impact the efficiency of energy conversion. Conventionally, excess solar energy are stored in lithium-ion batteries. However, this method increases the carbon footprints and potentials for energy loss over time. Alternatively, we can use power-to-gas technology that makes use of solar energy to purify and split the readily available ocean water to produce elemental hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen produced can then be used as a renewable fuel to tackle the ongoing issues involving energy production.
