UNIMO offers a new level of individual mobility for people with disabilities.
The car complies with the M1 category, so it can be used on public roads.
The platform of the car is made with the possibility of interchangeable installation of an internal combustion engine and an electric motor with a battery.
The ramp lifting system is installed in the rear end of the vehicle. It provides easy and comfortable access to the cabin. The lift is safe, automatic, and is operated remotely from the key fob. It can handle up to 350 kg of load.
A specially designed wheelchair is used as a driver and passenger seat that meets all safety requirements for a car seat. A special lock system developed by our company is used to fix the seats in the driver's and passenger's seats. The seat is made with the possibility of rotation around its axis.
Rear-hinged doors and swivel seats make boarding and alighting much easier, especially for people with various musculoskeletal disorders.
The car is equipped with both standard controls (steering wheel and pedals), and hand controls using a leaver with integrated joystick.
The side cameras provide a wider viewing angle than conventional side view mirrors.
The design of the car provides the possibility of both independent driving of the car by a disabled person in a wheelchair / wheelchair, and the possibility of transporting a disabled person in a wheelchair / wheelchair as a passenger.
UNIMO 1.0 (photos 1,2 and 3) is equipped with an electric motor. It is the ideal power unit for a city car environmentally friendly, efficient and economical. The charging port is located at the front of the car for easy parking at the charging station.
UNIMO 1.0 was manufactured in Minsk in 2019 and has been in operation on public roads in Belarus since 2020.
The UNIMO 2.0 platform is equipped with an internal combustion engine, a fundamentally new lifting mechanism, and even more thoughtful vehicle access solutions. Among other changes, there are also redesigned seat locking mechanisms and a new type of vehicle hand controls.
At the moment, UNIMO 2.0 is in the final assembly at our partner's plant in Minsk (Belarus), after which we will take part in homologation to get access to public roads.
Ways for people with disabilities to use UNIMO 2.0:
- as a personal vehicle;
- for car sharing services;
- as a taxi service for drivers with disabilities;
- as a delivery vehicle for couriers with disabilities.
Ассоrding to the World Health Organization, 15% of the global population have various forms of disability. Every sixth of them is characterized by a severe form of disability. People with musculoskeletal system disorders represent a significant part of them. Individual mobility is of crucial importance to them.
Based on the most conservative approach, approximately 1% of the number of people in need of wheelchairs would buy a car — about 1.44 million people.
