Monitoring patients in hospitals tends to be limited to floor mounted machines. This project moves the monitoring to a wrist or taped monitoring system that can include patient owned smart phones and fitness devices. The system consists of wrist or body carried units that transmits patient data via Bluetooth with units being powered by pervoskite solar cell printed onto device or wrist band charging an internal battery. There has been a recent advance which will result in pervoskite solar being less expensive.
Patient Bluetooth device communicates to ceiling mounted units that pass patient data to a WiFi network back to monitoring. These units are powered by pervoskite solar cells printed on the covers o the WiFi units, which charges an internal battery..
Using Bluetooth enables the entire hospital to monitor the status of patients as they move around the hospital with a maximum distance of 10 meters from the ceiling mounted WiFi units. As the patients move from Bluetooth cell to cell their position and vital signs are undated at nurses station for that patient with an alarm sounding if the vital signs move from safe zones or disappears.
Each basic unit will monitor heard rate, blood pressure, breathing rate; patient owned devices can be accommodated with calibration. Ungraded units could send EKGs or other data.
The system would also find a use setting such as retirement homes, assisted living homes, and individual homes where a person would need medical monitoring;
