Background:
According to latest data compiled by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), drunk driving was responsible for only 7,061 — a mere 1.5% — of the 4, 64,674 road accidents in India in 2015. This is really serious issue and while great efforts designed to reduce or eliminate drunk drivers from getting behind the wheel have been in place for a number of years, no significant advancements have been made in the technology until now.
Automatic Ignition Locking system with some advanced features can help to reduce the accidents caused by drunk driving. It will be a permanent system that can be installed by manufacturers in the car at the time of production.

Application:
Our proposed system would be constantly monitoring the driver breath by placing it on the driver wheel or somewhere the driver’s breath can be constantly monitored by it.constantly monitored by it. So if a driver is drunk and tries to drive the system detects alcohol presence in his/her breathe and sends signal to ECU (Engine Control unit) which is controlling ignition system for ignition interlock.

An ignition interlock interrupts the signal from the ignition to the starter. Hence we cannot start the vehicle at that moment. Breathe analyser interrupts the signal until sensors output changes to its normal value i.e. valid breathe sample is provided that meets minimal alcohol guidelines in that state.

Sensors will continuously monitors the driver’s condition so even if tries to drink when the car sensor start will detect it and pass the signal to ECU. We can send signal through CAN bus to ECU. So we can achieve faster transmission of signal to ECU. In another case if the driver is not drunk while he starts the vehicle and engine is started but driver drinks while driving the sensor still detects alcohol in his breath and stops the engine so that the car would not accelerate any further and driver can steer it to roadside
