In response to climate issues, there is a significant growth and improvement of electric cars including their market. On the other hand, the long charging time can be the downside of electric cars. To tackle this challenge, Charging Shoe can be the solution. The Charging Shoe and the Automatic Charging Station are inspired by the railway industry, the landing gear, and automatic car washing; the aim is to provide a quick way to charge electric cars.
First, the car enters the screening station where the car is analyzed; the type of car, how much battery left, the battery specification, and the voltage needed. Everything is adjusted to individual car. This adjustment will determine how much energy should be in the third rail in order to charge the car with the right amount of energy and voltage. During the whole process, the car is moved by the conveyor track and the driver and passenger can sit inside the car as in an automatic car washing. As it enters the charging station, the retractable Charging Shoe will be unfolded and it will touch the third rail, which is located in between the conveyor tracks, to power the car, filling the battery. The Charging Shoe can be modified for flexible design by the car manufacturers; either the shoe is on top contact or side contact with the third rail. As the car exits the charging station, they are ready to continue their journey.
The station is powered by photovoltaic cells, which acts as a roof of the station at the same time, and by wind turbines that are located along the roof side. The wind turbines are in anemometer cup shape for its sensitivity and to be able to capture the breeze, so the station can be located everywhere. The main purpose is to be independent and reduce consumption of natural resources.
This solution can support the growth of electric cars, save customer’s time, and reduce the dependency on non-renewable energy resources.
