The cooling system of automobiles always have corrosion as the biggest threat to its reliability. To overcome this fatal phenomenon we have done synthesis of boron nitride in nanoscale. The synthesis of Hexagonal boron nitride is carried out with urea and boric acid. The material obtained is charecterized by SEM and TEM, the process used for this is solution combustion synthesis. The HBN is then made as a thin film coating on the copper (which is used in the pipes of cooling system of the vehicle). This reduces the oxidation between the water and the copper substrate. It helps in increasing the engine efficiency by increasing the function of the cooling system.
