Waste management has become one of the crucial concerns in today's world. One of the best ways to handle it is to segregate waste at the primary level. This model deals with segregating dry, wet and metal waste using a low power msp430 microcontroller. When waste is detected in the bin, an inductive proximity sensor is used to detect whether its metal waste or not. If not, the respective density of the waste is measured (wet waste having more) and the waste materials are dumped into their respective slots using a conveyor belt which runs on a 12v DC servo motor.
