Amphibious Wings

This is a system of energy harvesting by aero and hydro power.

Aero power like that produced by wind turbines and hydro power like that of water turbines. The energy harvesting is done with the help of a series of rotating rotors.

The system is formed of three chambers :
- Air chamber where the rotors, coupled to the air chamber axis, fall.
- Water chamber where the same rotors float (go up) with being coupled to the water chamber axis.
- Amphibious chamber where the rotors pass from the air chamber to the water one.

Each rotor performs a complete cycle of energy harvesting by passing from the air chamber to the water chamber and throughout the amphibious one.

When passing in the air chamber, the rotor falls due to gravity. It gains speed and starts to rotate, on its axis, due to air movement on its blades. The speed of air, with respect to the rotor, is the same as the latter speed with respect to the system frame but in the opposite direction.

Once the rotor gets to the bottom of the air chamber the air/water door of the amphibious chamber opens and the water/water door closes. The rotor enters the amphibious chamber. Ones it is inside, the air/water door closes and the water/water door opens. The rotor is guided from the amphibious chamber to the water chamber and throughout the water/water door.

After getting into the water chamber, the rotor gets coupled to an axis. Due to the hollow shape of the rotor, by the effect of apparent density difference, the rotor starts to float in the water. Identically to the case of the rotor in the air chamber, the rotor rotates due to the movement of water on its blades. The speed of water, with respect to the rotor, is the same as that of this latter but in the opposite direction of its speed with respect to the frame. Once the rotor gets to the water surface, it is guided and coupled to the axis of the air chamber and the cycle continues.

Several technical problems can face the concept proofing of such system:
- Sliding of the rotor on its axis.
- Water compression in the amphibious chamber: chamber sealing.
- Drowning the rotor in the water of the amphibious chamber: water elevation.
- The mounting of the rotor on axis (proposed solution in figure 2)

It might appear to readers of this description that this system evokes eternal motor concept. But i think it is identical to any other renewable energy system where the source has theoretically limited energy resources - the sun.
