Lunar Based Solar Energy for Entire Earth

Unfortunately, the scope of anticipated solar, wind, or other renewable energy projects located on the Earth in the next 50 years will probably have minimal impact on global warming, now that the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has exceeded 400 PPM. Exponential fossil fuel usage in India and China and other developing nations will prevent reduction of CO2 concentration to a Climate Sustainable value of 350 ppm. The only practical method of slowing and ultimately reversing global warming is to obtain unlimited solar power to the entire Earth from the moon. This is described in detail on my website http://www.freelunchclimatechangesolution.com.

It also solves two structural problems in the US:
1. LONG TERM UNEMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC STAGNATION
The only remaining well paying, jobs for large numbers of workers left in our slow recovery are in the Defense Establishment, which are presently used for "make work" jobs on weapon systems such as the F-35, and Atomic Warhead Optimization, which are unsuitable to the War on Terror.

2. THE NATIONAL DEBT AND CONTINUOUS BUDGET DEFICITS
Large, government-funded jobs in infrastructure, transportation, and education are limited by the overhanging National Debt and the Deficit spending that would be necessary to initiate them in the scale of defense projects conducted during World War II.

In order to recover from our present malaise, we need a huge infusion of US government funds similar to those of World War II, which brought us out of the Great Depression. Eliminating another World War, we can use the Saudi Arabian Model, where its citizens and workers are subsidized generously by the profitable fossil energy receipts of the Saudi government. The US can achieve this model without increasing taxes or increasing the National Debt.

My proposal would build a solar power station on the moon in ten years, using technology developed in the Apollo Moon Landing Program of the 1960’s, in which concentrated solar thermal energy obtained from parabolic concentrators fabricated from lunar materials is converted to electricity by Stirling Cycle generators invented and developed in the 19th century, and operating in current solar systems in California.

This project would be paid for by diverting a portion of the $100 billion/year authorized by the Paris Environmental Conference, combined with a portion of the already-funded, US Defense Procurement Budget to the same companies and workers receiving them now, thus preventing large scale layoffs. This power station would beam 21 trillion kilowatt hours/year of totally clean electric energy to the earth 24/7, using the proven technology of microwave power beaming, which passes through cloud cover, thus reducing atmospheric CO2 concentration to 350 ppm.

At the current average electricity rate of 12 cents per kilowatt-hour, the US Treasury would receive $2.5 trillion per year forever. These funds would eliminate budget deficits and ultimately retire the National Debt.

This is a project Liberals, Independents, Libertarians, and Right Wing Conservatives can support. The $20,000 prize funds would be used to promote this proposal.
