Ayubook of Rohtak (Haryana) is engaged in the mission of making life beautiful, and in that series, we are developing CARE - Citizen's Active Response against Earthquake technology to bridge the gap between earthquake engineering and state disaster relief unit through active involvement of citizens and help them in saving many precious lives.

Every year 500,000 detectable earthquakes occur, out of which 100,000 can be felt. Between 2000-2012 many life fatal earthquakes were felt leading to death of 813,856 people across the globe. With the large chunk in developing world. The increasing plate tectonic movements with increasing concentration of population has the potential to raise cost of these disasters exponentially.

While earthquake engineering's main focus is towards structural design enhancement to build better houses in future as a preventive measures, state disaster relief strategies focus more on evacuation of people post disaster as a recovery measure, leaving the mitigation preparedness and response measures unattended. With lack of early warning system and availability of only 40-45 golden seconds to respond during earthquake(i.e. the time gap between the primary waves and destructive secondary and surface waves reaching given point), through our CARE technology we are working to maximize the opportunities for people and use this critical duration as a god gift to save many lives.

CARE technology Composition:
It is divided into two parts, with one as basic necessity and other as add-on features.

1. Basic:
a. Scanner: We are using X-Ray scanner to prepare a three dimensional model of given house/building, which will give idea about strength of different areas, possible fractures etc.
b. Simulator: We are using modern physics simulation techniques to simulate earthquake response of given structure based on three dimensional model, construction material properties, building mass, stiffness and oscillatory response and identify safe zones, weak zones and build seismic profile of given locality.
c. Supply of solutions: It gives a detailed report (including graphical content) to people about overall impact of earthquake on his habitat and provide engineering solutions regarding safe zones in house, areas to be strengthened, evacuation route to be followed etc.

2 Add-ons:
a. Informer: It uses motion sensors to count the number of people in given apartments at certain time and disseminate this information to state evacuation forces in case of an earthquake by integrating it with state disaster response system.
b. Wrist Bands: It is a shock proof, high strength wrist band with an in built battery powered radio wave transmitter to track pulses of given person buried under debris and send such information to disaster relief forces, thus helping in swiftest evacuation of alive persons.

Our product will be the first device in the market and has potential to serve developed as well as developing world facing threats of earthquake to understand this disaster better, reduce existing risk, prevent new risk, strengthening resilience and build back better with decreased mortality, affected people and help them in minimizing economic losses, with many spin-off uses potential.
