Gravity Machine
My Gravity Machines are not a theoretical proposal but are being built for the last 3 years. Gravity Machines produce continuously electricity out of a heat bath without the addition of any outside energy. This fact clearly contradicts present day energy views and teachings. But they utilize an effect already predicted in 1876 by Josef Loschmidt: Under the influence of gravity a vertical column of a gas, a liquid or a rigid body should show not equal temperatures over height but a temperature gradient, cold at the top and warm at the bottom. Our ten year long experiments confirm this view. This temperature difference can be used to produce work in the form of electricity as shown on the right side of Fig. 1.

FIGURE 1. Production of electricity out of a heat bath

Connected to a heat bath this allows the continuous production of electricity without the addition of any outside energy. A typical Gravity Machine as shown in Fig. 2, 3 and 4 uses a vertical column of Peltier elements to convert the temperature gradient, cold at the top and warm at the bottom, into a voltage creating a current through a resistor located outside of the machine. The Peltier elements are thermally insulated through Dewar glasses, a copper/foam spiral, vacuum panels, and the polystyrene foam outside box.

These small Gravity Machines with an active internal volume of only 0.3 liter demonstrate the principle, producing a small amount of electricity day in and day out. They are useful for proving the actual production of electricity. It is a task for engineers to upscale these machines to larger applications of as shown in Figure 5 and 6 to be used in private homes or to power plant sizes.

The energy taking out by this large scale Gravity Machines as shown in Figure 6 has to be replenished by a heat bath, for instance a river connected to the upper or lower part of the Gravity Machine through a heat exchanger.

History of Dr. Ing. Roderich W. Graeff

Born in Heidelberg, Germany in 1927 Dr. Graeff studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University Darmstadt, receiving his Ph.D. in engineering in 1953. He founded the company SOMOS GmbH producing dryers for the plastic industries and software for solar energy calculations. He received over 200 international patents for his work which he licensed to various companies all over the world. Now he is building Gravity Machines which can be bought or rented or produced themselves by interested parties. The up scaling to greater electricity outputs is in the planning stage.
