I have conducted experiments which have shown that a Low Weight Hybrid Organic-Inorganic Ablative Composite Thermal Protection System composed of mainly a ligno-cellulosic matrix can be used as a in high temperature applications such as atmospheric re-entry.

The components of the TPS will be kept confidential until funding for further experimentation is allocated. This material could be used as a low cost replacement to ceramic type heat-shields in low cost space applications such as nano and cubesat re-entry.

Experiments have also shown that this hybrid composite could be easily molded into shapes to suit the needs of other industries. This composite shows great potential for high temperature applications were flammability and insulation are an issue.
