THAW is a simple method of making a hazardous area safe to walk across. It is essentially a low-profile bridge that can be used to level an uneven surface with ease for example potholes, cracked pavement/paving stones, reducing the risk of civilian traffic.

THAW is also capable of providing a ridged surface for pedestrian vehicles (wheelchairs, buggies etc.) to avoid troublesome or dangerous natural environments, for example muddy hillside pathways, whilst repairs to the area are made.

THAW’s load carrying capacity makes it suitable not only for civil aid, but can also be used for emergency response units, for whom it was primarily designed for. THAW’s low-profile design allows for heavy equipment to be easily recovered without the risk of manual handling injuries.

THAW can prevent injuries that can occur when moving response equipment through soft sands, allows for people to traverse fragile ground such as fractured ice and mud with a low weight-to-surface area pressure, and it provides a clear visual safe route for entry and exit from hazardous areas.

THAW was originally conceived to provide a safer method for responders to recover casualties in areas degraded by the victims efforts to escape. THAW’s inherent buoyancy and weight dissipation allows it to reduce the risk of “break through” of ice and frozen mud and, should this occur, it would assist in keeping the responder and victim afloat during recovery.

With the ability to roll away THAW after it has been used, like rolling away a fishing line, the design makes it very handy to store after it has been used for whatever application it has been needed for.

The target market for THAW would be to sell off the product to emergency response teams who work either by land, sea or both so to help them retrieve/contain/transport or any other job that is required of THAW.

THAW, due to its easily manufactured parts through methods of blow moulding and vacuum forming, will be easy to manufacture in order to mass produce and there for create mass sales from this product.
