This invention involves controlling the unwanted acoustic noise inherent in a highly concentrated flame by modulating an electric arc embedded in the flame. The purpose of the arc is to generate an inverse modulated signal, which will inhibit the unwanted noise, generated by the combustion gases in the flame.
The "light characteristics" of the flame visible to the naked eye or not, activate a photo detector. The signal from the photodetector is electronically inverted and amplified to modulate a current regulated tungsten arc within the flame whose acoustical waveform cancels the noise output of the flame.
This system can be retrofitted onto existing jet engines or built into newly conceived engines without interfering in the engines performance. This attribute is scalable and environmentally friendly.
