Solar and Wind Powered COW/CIAB (Cell on Wheels/Cell in a Box)

Current mobile cell tower configurations require an electrical power source, land leasing (when applicable), and backhaul to the network. Augmenting the power schema by using a combination of solar panels and wind turbines with an energy storage unit would allow for more remote placement and more flexibility. Units would utilize microwave or satellite backhaul infrastructure in combination with a solar and wind power system, allowing them to be placed in areas generally inaccessible to traditional electric powered units. CIAB unit can be air lifted into areas hard to reach with traditional vehicles. Both COWs and CIABs would be more deployable in areas of natural disaster when electric or, in the case of gas powered generator units, gasoline is not immediately or readily available.
