Since we still drive our cars on sunny days, we have all run into the problem of poorly designed and/or functioning sun visors incapable of blocking out the sun while still allowing us to see street lights, signs, etc.
The eSunShield design would alleviate this problem by automatically blocking out just the sun.
This can be accomplished through the use of a eye location tracking system, a sun sensor, a dynamic electronic film applied onto a windshield or embedded, and a microprocessor. The microprocessor would compare where the sun is located (if visible at all) and where the eyes of the driver are roughly located, combined with calibrated configuration of the vehicle, and use electronics similar to an LCD display to blot out the windshield in an area that will block the sun.
The market potential is any vehicle with a windshield, and even helmet windscreens, etc.
