Short description of the invention:
This is a device that is strapped to the arm of a patient waiting in the clinic’s waiting room. This device will send Heart Rate; Ambulatory Blood Pressure; Blood Analyzer and Glucose data through a Blue Tooth (Class 2 having the 10 to 30 meter range) communication system or a localized data transmission system. The data is then transferred to a computer in the general waiting room, and then is sent to the patient’s specific waiting room computer or Dr.’s portable computer. With this the doctor can quickly look over the waiting room data for faster patient analysis.
Describe the utility of the invention and describe the advantages of this invention over the current art:
Currently a patient needs to wait in the clinic waiting room and in the specific waiting room for tests to be completed. The nurse then comes in and does the tests that she can perform and comes back possible again for more tests before the doctor can perform some tests himself or analyze the nurses. This device will perform an early look at the tests and the doctor can review before going into the room or at the room computer. The advantage is saving the doctor and the patient time in the doctor’s office.
Provide one or more detailed examples which illustrate the invention. Incorporate any needed sketches or informal drawing in the test of the I.I.R.
After entering the waiting room this device is strapped onto your arm. Using Capillary action 1 or 2 needle like tubes with a very small width would pierce the skin on the arm and draw the patient’s blood to a blood analyzer. The capillary potion of this invention will need to be discarded after one use. The blood analyzer will need to be cleaned or discarded after each patient. The analyzer’s data is then transmitted to the main computer using the blue tooth network. At the same time the patients heart rate, Ambulatory blood pressure and glucose level is determined and also sent through the Blue Tooth technology and sent to a main computer or a computer in the specific patient room. (Ambulatory blood pressure indirectly measures blood pressure through auscultation (of Korotkoff’s sounds) with piezoelectric microphones.)
Capillary Formula: (dim. in SI units, the height h of a liquid column (m) is given by):
2gcosq
h = ----------
pgr
Where:
g = the liquid-air surface tension (J/m2 or N/m)
q = contact angle
p = density of liquid (kg/m3)
g = acceleration due to gravity (m/s2)
r = radius of tube (m)
