No moving parts alternator for vehicles

An alternator is described which has no moving parts and replaces the alternator and belt in current vehicle engines.

The alternator works by using waste heat from the car's internal combustion engine to create electricity, instead of a moving magnetic field.

The largest savings on engine drag will be significant at all speeds due to eliminating the belt drive.

The second largest savings will be weight - not only the alternator, but also the starter motor, which has to overcome the alternator to run the engine.

Note, due to using waste heat, the alternator can continue to run after the car is turned off, allowing electric fans to do the same without draining the batteries.

A 700A @14.5V DC generator will take up to 200 square inches distributed along the exhaust manifolds.
