One of the most common automobile problems is thermostat failure. While the thermostat can be removed in an emergency, without the proper tools, especially the correct gasket, a roadside repair is impossible. With a side loaded cartridge thermostat, you can remove the thermostat with an adjustable wrench (as soon as the engine cools) and be on the road in no time.
Using standard technology currently used in thermostats a modified housing can accomodate a cartidge style thermostat. This design can be used as a factory or aftermarket product.
